Ben Cole is a black cop who becomes curious when what he saw in the murder of Sally Beth Roe, is not what was reported. After some investigation he loses his job because of the drugs placed in his locker. He attends the church with Mark Howard and Tom Harris, the latter he helps in getting his kids back. Ben later becomes good friends with Marshall Hogan
